We have reached the half way point of the 2007-08 school year. You will see that the second half of the year will go rather quickly.
I remind you that this time of the year is very good for the education of our students. There are fewer interruptions both at school and home, and it provides an opportune time for learning. Please take time to become involved in your child’s education.
I received a copy of the winter edition of a newsletter from the PA Parents Information & Resource Center. I am providing you a copy of this paper. It does contain a lot of good information for you. Please take time to read and review the articles.

I also remind you that we are in the heart of the winter season. We may have to make decisions on closing or delaying school. You can get the latest on the status of the schools by tuning onto the major TV stations or looking on the district website.

I would like to discuss with you a problem area that could occur. We usually don't and hesitate to do an early dismissal. I know the problems it creates. I ask you to have a plan in place for your children to go if and when such an occurrence would happen. Please take time and discuss this with your children.
Also, if the weather turns bad and you have kindergarten children that need to be picked up at noon or be delivered for the afternoon session you have the option of delaying the pickup or wait until the roads improve or decide not to bring your children to school for the afternoon session. Please use good judgment and do what is best for your child. Remember we can not control the weather.
The same thing would apply for the morning. We do the best that we can in making the decision to close or stay open or delay. Hopefully, we make the right decision but regardless the decision we make is never the right decision for all. You, too, have the option of keeping your children home. Here, again, you have the option of keeping them home.
Hopefully weather will spare us its harsh conditions. Let's hope for an early Spring.
